The Perfect Decaf Option

TLDR: By far the best Decaf coffee I've ever had. It tastes exactly as Kato's advertises, and I couldn't be happier.

I have been looking a long time for a decaf to have in the evenings, and most I've tried have turned out to be bad. Whether they lack flavor, are too artificially processed for my tastes, or are far too bitter, I haven't been a fan of most.

This Peruvian entered the scene as I was looking for daily drivers for the morning and caught my eye. After trying it a few times now, brewing at different strengths, I can confidently say this is the best Decaf I've ever had. The profile is exactly as described, smoother than silk, slightly caramelly enough to give that characteristic sweetness but not being overpowering, and citrusy to the point it adds a bite to it that doesn't take away from the smoothness. I could drink five cups of this because of how smooth it is, and how it doesn't punch you in the face like a deep dark roast in the morning. The medium roast is perfect for this bean, taming it enough to not be excessively fruity or sweet, but not ruining the smoothness with bitter roasting.

In summary, I know what I'll be having in the evenings. I've had my friends try it, and they offer similar opinions. Until Kato's drops another Decaf bean, this will be my go-to forever.
